David, our computer student, brought me this photo yesterday as a gift from his dad, Julio. Julio is in the background, and Charlie from our team is in the foreground. They are building Carlos and Juana's home here in Pana.
We wonder how many homes/projects Julio has built, and how rarely he's been given a photo of the job well done.
When David gave me the photo, we launched a Skype conference call from our computer, and David and I conferenced in Charlie (on the road in BC) and Julio (on the jobsite in Pana). David and I co-translated for them as they asked each other questions, from Kakchiquel-to-Spanish-to-English and back again. Julio asked Charlie to come work on a project together again.
