Today Julio Cesar, Juan, and Danaya spent a large portion of the morning sorting through supplies, toys, puzzles, books, and more sent by Carmen and her friends. It was Christmas in May! Julio Cesar and Juan of Mayan Families made an itemized list of everything that was delivered to the preschool, to help prevent things from going missing.
A few more useful things you could bring, in case you are coming to Guatemala in the near future: a small ghetto blaster with radio and CD player for music, whiteboard markers, and coloring books for each child so photocopies are not necessary (because Francisca can't afford copies). Copies also have to be made in Solola or Panajachel, which is a hassle.
