There are 73 students on these three class lists, all of whom now have a basic familiarity with computers. Vicente teaches 2-3 different students each day how to set up the lab, connect to the internet, and pack up again. Most of them know more than their older siblings now.
Over the years, some have questioned "are we forcing North American ideas on them". We think that in the case of Tierra Linda, they are asking (pleading) for help and education in these areas. They aren't trying to hold onto an agricultural way of life. They want their kids to have equal opportunities and access to the world. We hope we're just coming alongside to help.

This is a comment I have heard many times, and I often wondered if the person who was telling me to leave these people alone had ever had a sister die from lack of medical care, preventable diseases, unclean water, etc.
