Chatting With Stan on Skype

We had another four-hour class this afternoon, and the guys stayed for supper. David opened his first email account, emailed back and forth with Stan, and talked with him on Skype video chat during the process. David is 24, and studying in the 8th grade. He had to drop out after 6th grade for several years, since his family didn't have enough money to keep him in school. He now works 6 days a week with his dad Julio in construction, and pays to go to 8th grade on Sundays. Somehow he's been fitting in a Saturday afternoon typing class in Solola (also paid). Unless he passes a typing exam, he can't move on to the 9th grade.

You might want to remind your teenager about David, the next time you hear "I've got so much to do" and "School is just a waste of time".
