We introduced the typing of full words today with the fifth-graders. They were doing incredibly well. For kids who had never touched a computer just a few weeks ago, it is amazing. Better yet, you should see their faces when I look at them, and tell them that they are really typing.
We arrived at the house at 8:04 AM, and the first kid raced to the door at 8:06. The next nine arrived shortly after, and by 8:16, we had ten kids typing away. Class doesn't technically start until 8:30, and these kids ran full-speed down their mountain - and their teacher wasn't even here today.
