Clayton and I built this shelf a few years ago, in one of the classrooms of the school, using rusty straightened nails and dilapidated wood. It's now in the kitchen. We walked down the mountain trail for the first time that day, guided by some six-year-olds. It was a deeply influential moment in my life, and from then on, I wanted to connect deeper with the people of Tierra Linda. Clayton, this photo is for you.
