We woke up today to find that all of Panajachel was without power, including our home and our classroom. Apparently this was a scheduled 6 AM - 4 PM outage while they changed a cable.
Of course, it's harder to do a computer class without power, but with fully charged laptops, we were ready. Since the internet connection is via a USB modem that draws power from the computer, it worked just fine too. The modem is connected to the computer by the window. The student by the window isn't in trouble, just using the computer that has the modem (which we hang out the window to get a better signal).
