Well, for the first time ever, we've seen "chicken buses" in the making. This is in Antigua, close to the Nino Obrero school.
When school buses outlive their usefulness in Canada and the U.S., they are reincarnated in Guatemala as "chicken buses", which form the local inter-city transportation system.

Of course they need to add the finishing touches of flowers, "No Fear" type slogans on the windsheild, possibly a statue of the virgin Mary hanging in the window, and a great stereo system to pump out the techno beat.
