There are five old typewriters, missing a few keys. We assume these are for typing practice. It's hard to know what will happen to this library, since the librarian was the real champion from the sounds of it. He had all sorts of programming going on to encourage literacy and reading. He was killed two weeks ago when two boats collided on the lake, and he was thrown overboard, but couldn't swim.

That's really awful. I've heard of that happening a lot in developing countries - people drowning for lack of knowing how to swim. A friend of mine actually went over to Africa to teach swimming!
