Alex did a great job teaching today. It was a scrambly sort of day, because we had 28 fourth-graders and no teacher. When they arrived, they told us that they had a test next week on road signs, but that they don't have any material to study. So we spent a good portion of the morning drafting a study sheet of Guatemalan road signs, and trying to print it in readable resolution. At the end of the class, however, every student left with a study sheet. That's the sort of responsiveness that tells them "hey, these computers and this internet thing can really help my daily life". It was Alex's first study sheet in Spanish.
