Is there a Costco and/or Walmart store located in Guatemala? Sounds like a great place to stock up on supplies for our trip to Panajachel this summer. We appreciate your list of favorites, too. Do you think sandals will be appropriate for the rainy season in Pana.? Also, what beach did you visit with Mike? That looks like something we would like to do during our trip. The more details you post the better. We're taking notes!
We haven't been here during the rainy season, but it sounds like you literally need rubber boots in the streets. You can buy boots in the market here. There is a Costco equivalent (www.pricesmart.com) and a Wal-Mart (www.hiperpaiz.com) in Guatemala City. Some things are cheaper there, and some aren't. The beach is Marmaya (http://www.fuentesweb.com/marmaya.com/howto_atitlan.htm).
Sounds gluten free too!
